There has always been a fascination by humankind and scientists for antigravity although most scientists debunk such research as ridiculous. From dreams of weightlessness and zero gravity, to NASA performing scientific research on the development of antigravity machines, I believe that one day we will achieve this holy grail. How to defeat gravity itself!

I once read a fascinating theory article on space travel hyperdrives and antigravity which contained this excerpt:-

This will require a huge rotating ring placed above a superconducting coil to create an intense m@gnetic field. With a large enough current in the coil, and a large enough m@gnetic field, Dröscher claims the electrom@gnetic force can reduce the gravitational pull on the ring to the point where it floats free. Dröscher and Häuser say that to completely counter Earth's pull on a 150-tonne spacecraft a m@gnetic field of around 25 tesla would be needed. While that's 500,000 times the strength of Earth's m@gnetic field, pulsed m@gnets briefly reach field strengths up to 80 tesla. And Dröscher and Häuser go further. With a faster-spinning ring and an even stronger m@gnetic field, gravitophotons would interact with conventional gravity to produce a repulsive antigravity force, they suggest.

I also very much liked my brothers scientific response when I showed him the article....

"Yes, very interesting professor. The other simple device that works in a similar manner is a small brass disc which has a sharpened wire protruding axially and perpendicular from the disc. If inadvertently stepped upon in bear feet, it will make you (or the stepper) temporarily weightless. The device is known as a DRA Wingpin. (named after its inventor Dr. A Wingpin). Very funny!

Another great web site which theorises on antigravity and which has a number of very interesting projects in hand, and even some you can build yourself can be found at http://www.americanantigravity.com

If you would like to explore the heavens and get a more intimate knowledge of the planets, our solar system, the moon, constellations, and galaxies and be able to track man-made satellites too, I highly recommend the software from www.StarryNight.com. It is probably the best and most realistic astronomy software you can find, and it has an excellent range of astronomy software products for junior astronomers, to professional astronomy software that integrates with telescope tracking modules. Prices range from just $25 to about $250. It is incredibly easy and fun to use, and allows you to explore deep space and travel through time, view distant galaxies or close ups of the moon, and naturally it shows in real-time the current positions of the objects in the sky so you can look them up on your computer, then go outside and view them with your eyes, binoculars or telescope.
